Make Cleveland High Principal Jenna Sauls Resign

Make Cleveland High Principal Jenna Sauls Resign
The Issue
Since 2017 when Principal Jenna Saul’s Hairr took charge of Cleveland High, the school has been nothing less than controversial. As a former student and alum of the school, the institution has failed to provide many students including myself, an equal opportunity towards success. Rather than treating all students equally, Principal Hairr along with administration and staff do not foster an environment that promotes a positive academic experience. Rather than offering all students opportunities, Principal Hairr allows her football athletes to get away with just about anything; as the rest of the school is always held to a biased standard. Additionally, the lack of professionalism when it comes to interactions with non football students leaves many feeling the lack of concern towards accomplishments and academic needs. Building on to the caveat of previously mentioned topics, her treatment of persons is what allows bullying to happen in the school’s halls.
One of the things she did on my freshman year upon the trend of school shootings in 2017-2018 was host a town hall with students asking what the school needs to do to prevent such tragedies from happening. I remember a few upperclassmen spoke up, criticizing the administration and staff’s treatment of people. Rather than listen, nothing has changed during my four years here. Everyone aside from Football athletes and some Student Council Leadership are still treated as second class citizens. Additionally, unlike previous years; the school has seen more threats similar to the tragedies that were discussed yet nothing is done to prevent such events from unfolding on the social level.
What this shows is that Principal Hairr has no regard to what happens when it concerns the real life issues surrounding our small academic community. As someone in a leadership position, it is your responsibility to ensure that everyone on your team is taken care of; not the few.
With this being said, I ask for everyone reading past and present alumni to support recalling Principal Jenna Sauls Hairr.
