I am a big fan of Chobani Flips, and I enjoy their variety of flavors, my favorite is Cookie Dough. Yet it saddens me knowing that their current packaging is plastic #6 and #6 is not recyclable where I live, or by most curbside recycling programs which isn't environmentally friendly. This is a call for Chobani to rise to the environmental challenges that our planet faces and to create recyclable packaging (plastic #1 or #2 which are the most commonly recyclable plastics.) for its Flips product line. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, packaging represents about 23% of landfill material in the United States. Making packaging recyclable is a significant step towards reducing landfill and promoting sustainability. It is also noted that 75% of Americans want companies to address their packaging impact on the environment. Given these facts, there is a clear customer desire for more sustainable packaging options. We request Chobani to value both its products and our planet by making Flips packaging recyclable. By doing so, not only will Chobani be meeting its consumers' desires, but it will also be taking a meaningful step to protect our environment.
