Make cheerleading a sport in Missouri. It's a sport in its own right!

The Issue

Think about it. What would you consider to be a sport? There’s obvious answers, like soccer or basketball. But what about other activities that are slightly debated? Like bowling, table tennis or cheerleading? We as a society consider soccer a sport without debate, but why? What makes soccer a sport, and cheerleading not? Well I believe that cheerleading is a sport. Cheerleading is a sport, in which a team of dancers and athletes dance and cheer on the sidelines of a game. The point of cheerleading is to encourage the athletes playing the sport, as well as encourage the audience to cheer louder. I believe that cheerleading is a sport in its own right, because it requires physical strength and endurance. In addition to that, it's also competitive like many established sports are.
