Products that we use on a daily bases contain harmful ingredients known as Parabens. Parabens can be found in a wide variety of products. They are used to prolong the shelf life and also to prevent the formation of bacteria and mould within them. 

However, these products are Endocrine Disruptors, which are chemicals that fool the body into thinking their hormones. These parabens, among other harmful ingredients, have an impact on hormonal health. Using products with parabens can create 

• hormonal imbalance 
• decreased testosterone and sperm production 
• increased risk of cancer 
• skin irritation 
• brittle or dry hair

Were petitioning to the UK beauty retailer Boots.

We ask boots to clearly indicate the health risks in their stock products. This will be done through a traffic light system with green stickers indicating paraben-free products, amber for imperfect products that include lower levels of EDCs, and red for products high in EDCs. We believe this system will help educate the consumer in making their product choices and therefore sway their decision.
