The Issue

When I was still a child, I saw the trailer for Pac Man World Rally shown above in Pac Man World 3's bonus features. It was one of the most beautiful games I ever saw and I couldn't wait to buy it. Soon after I bought the game, I saw that the images on the back of the box showed the levels from the trailer I saw on Pac Man World 3.

When I actually played the game, I was VERY disappointed because all of the levels were changed in ways that removed a lot of the charm, I mean I tried doing literally every insane thing imaginable to try to unlock the content from the trailer to make sure I could play what I bought the game for. So, I have spent countless hours of my life trying to get the 2005 beta tracks back, like Frozen Tundra, Lunar Launch, Rolling Hills Raceway, and Haunted Mansion, to my knowledge, every track had an early version that was unused. A sense of dread overwhelmed me when I learned online that these designs were unused versions of the levels from the 2005 prototype.

Most of my friends in Discord went through the same thing growing up and were very saddened that these beautiful alternate level designs were not in the final game. Even if 2 versions of every level were made, the originals should have been included as a harder bonus mode so that they wouldn't go to waste. We all agree that if we had to choose only one iteration of all of the levels between owning the versions of the levels in the final retail game and the versions from the prototype, we would have chosen the versions from the prototype, because every aspect of the levels were far superior to the final games' tracks.

I won't rest until Bandai Namco Entertainment is convinced to use every unused design iteration of all of the tracks from Pac Man World Rally for Pac Man World Rally Re-Pac! We don't want just a visual upgrade of the version of the game that we already have, we want Pac Man World Rally Re-Pac to include all of the unused iterations of these tracks, even if that means not having any based on the final retail game, since the original's graphics were fine. The point is, is that the prototype had better visual designs in all levels, and the few that had track design differences were also better because the layouts look more fun to race on.

All levels looked bigger compared to the cars' sizes, but the vehicles were faster to make up for it. The HUD elements were better and easier to read. It looked more free, open, fun, and was colored much better, with cooler ramp designs and nice jagged, broken, visually thrilling parts of the road that you could land on after jumping.

One of the best examples is Frozen Tundra, which was the first level to unfortunately change. It had a triple figure 8 pattern to the track where you leap off over the yeti area, it was reduced to a boring curve straight down in Arctic Iceberg, (the final game version), before getting on the ship. The different, more vibrant colors, snow puffs on everything, the whale's bow, and the broken bridge with railing with a jagged end all looked so cool.

Arctic Iceberg made everything monotone, bland, and got rid of a couple of the most fun parts of Frozen Tundra's track. Lunar Launch (prototype) was the same layout as Galactic Outpost (final game), but it has many of the same problems like they put giant tunes of rings and a satellite tower in the middle of the whole cross jump area, (I guess as an unnecessary guide to the player as where to go mid air, but we don't like it because it completely ruined the prettiest view in the game and we know to drive as if it were any other jump there). The textures are much less pretty in the final game, PMWR fans really don't like how the sky is blue-ish with less stars in the final game when the original was pure black sky with a bedazzlingly tremendous amount of beautiful bright white stars as contrast and a very cool moon resembling Pac Man's face.

Lunar Launch also had more beautiful textures and textures than Galactic Outpost, like the brown/purple track, crazy patterns on the chomping eyeball aliens, and neater details, like the satellite tower being over the shortcut tube, the robot shooting lasers on the lower path, and the 3 target rings near the entrance of the final area. Many other level had good differences, like Molten Mountain's lava geysers and steep slanted turns, Pirate Cove's lanterns, black clouds, and Pac Man moon, or how the shortcut path in the final version of Canyon Crusade was mandatory in the prototype and the shortcut used to be a giant leap off the top section onto a removed waterfall in the lower section. There was also a blockier, more fitting Retro Maze prototype, a version of Jungle Safari with a cooler temple, brown road, and better jump pad patterns, there is a version of King's Kourse where instead of lounging, it is his head floating with the pattern around him when he instructs Prince, some of the details and obstacles were unfortunately changed or removed in Winding Wetlands, Spooky's Castle, Toc Man's Factory, and Funhouse of Terror.

Rolling Hills Raceway was much better for having models of trees, hills, and buildings that looked just like Pac Man World 2's Pac-Village with more solid road textures, a section where you drive through a hollow log, etchings of 8-bit Namco characters on the sides of the much more realistic looking road, and no annoying zig-zagging turns that make it easy for those deer to trample you. Cloud Garden and Subterranean Speedway may be the only 2 levels with no changes, but it should be investigated, as it may also have amazing prototypes. I know that all of the battle arenas except for Canyon Crusade had superior alternate versions in the prototype too, themed after the original track designs that should be used instead of the final game's designs.

In conclusion, hundreds of people are waiting to be able to play the version they have been seeking for years with these beautiful textures, track designs with better layouts, obstacles, and would really, REALLY appreciate it if Pac Man World Rally Re-Pac included these lost versions of the tracks, as well as the PSP exclusive content, but matching the theme of the unused versions. Even the pac dot, fruit, and pac box locations were better, as well as the power curving reward, being boost bottles, while the guardians were normal items and the main menu design was originally more charming. There was also really great unused music linked below that I hope will be used in various sections of the game.

please Bandai Namco Entertainment if you make Pac Man World Rally Re-Pac, please include all of the unused level designs, whether or not anything from the final game is included, we seriously ask that these be at least included as bonus tracks if not the only versions in the game. All of us who signed this petition are making it clear that we want all of the Pac Man World Rally unused prototype tracks, arenas, and music, even if that means the final game's content isn't used at all for reference.  The beautiful prototype versions are what we thought we bought all those years ago, please, if you actually agree to make this, all PMWR fans will be eternally grateful and buy Pac Man World Rally Re-Pac if it includes this content! If it does not, it might be a flop as it would disappoint most pre-existing Pac Man World Rally fans if it does not have this content included.
