No student should be silenced for their freedom of speech. Senior Ammar Jamal, had his senior quote removed from the yearbook by a black piece of tape that was put on every individual yearbook. The harmless quote reads, "The victory march will continue until the Palestinian flag flies in Jerusalem and in all of Palestine." When the Arlington Senior went to the house principal, Dr. Bolner, and voiced his concerns about his quote, The principal said that they had plans of contacting his family to rewrite a new quote. However, that conversation never happened and now currently thousands of students will receive yearbooks with a black piece of tape covering Jamal's Senior quote.  Ammar Jamal also went to principal Solimene and got shut down. Ammar preached that his quote getting blocked out was a violation of his freedom of speech and religion. Solimene also denied this response as well. However many students had bible verses, a quote from a world-known sex trafficker, Andrew Tate, and a quote from Ronald Reagan saying, "If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Essentially preaching that this nation must remain religious in their Christianity and catholic beliefs in order to stay together. If these quotes are allowed in the school's yearbook, Ammar Jamals should be too. This is an act of racism and discrimination and Arlington Administration should take responsibility and pay for their actions instead of denying Ammar his freedoms and rights
