American Girl used to have 4 bald dolls available. On September 8th, 2022 the company released 25 new Truly Me dolls and discontinued two of the bald doll molds. There is no longer an asian mold with no hair or a brown eyed medium skinned doll, and the only two left are blue eyed light skin and a dark skinned doll. The level of representation for kids with no hair was already so minimal that getting rid of two of the existing dolls has made it so that so few children fighting cancer, alopecia or related diseases can have a doll that looks like them. These dolls are so important, as they help to normalize not having hair and make children feel special and beautiful. It is terrible that American Girl decided to get rid of these two dolls. By signing this petition you will help us hopefully bring back these two dolls so that kids of all backgrounds can have a doll that looks like them. Representation matters.
