Hello Super Supporters!
Since the campaigns start last February I have been talking to Procter and Gamble, the parent company that owns Tampax and Always (also known as Whisper in other countries). They said that the campaign had their full attention and that they, like me, wished there was a way period products could be made without plastic, but that this was not yet possible..
We know that this is possible and has been since the 80’s with more and more plastic-free options becoming available all the time, which makes it all the more obvious that the plastic content in their period care is unnecessary and the environmental impacts completely avoidable.
Both Tampax and Always contain high amounts of plastic with Tampax having three ranges of tampons that come with the addition of plastic applicators! There really is no excuse for their excessive use of plastic, which is why I’m asking you to take action with me by calling on Procter and Gamble to end period plastic in their tampons, pads and packaging and to stop manufacturing pointless plastic applicators!
Join me and let’s take action by tweeting Procter and Gamble to acknowledge and address the avoidable environmental impacts that Tampax and Always are having, and ultimately to take responsibility for the unnecessary plastic content in these products by going plastic-free!
Tweet: Procter & Gamble stop manufacturing pointless plastic applicators and take responsibility for the harmful impacts the unnecessary plastic content in your products is having by going plastic-free! www.change.org/plasticfreeperiods @ProcterGamble @PGUK @Tampax @Always #EndPeriodPlastic
You can use the tweet template above, or if you want to feel free to make your own. If you do please use the #EndPeriodPlastic hashtag, so I can see and retweet anything that you post!
Procter and Gamble are a multinational company, so we are going to have to create serious pademonium! We need to tweet and share as much as possible to have the biggest impact that we can, so let’s get their attention and show them how many of us want change to happen!
Thank you for your continued support, let's make change happen!
Ella :)
