Make Abortions Legal

Make Abortions Legal
The Issue
We are students from Dr. Maya Angelou Community High school, who want our voices to be heard on an issue that is currently happening not only California, but in other states as well. As people we should have the right in what we decide to do with our bodies and privacy on what we choose to do with it. It is not the Supreme Courts or anyone else's decision on what they have chosen to do. In the 14th Amendment it states, "that the U.S Constitution provides a fundamental "right to privacy" that protects a pregnant person's liberty to chose whether or not to have an abortion. This means that whether or not we decide to have an abortion that it'll be our own business and no else's in what we choose to do. Therefore, as a person, we should be able to decide what is right for us in where we feel comfortable in doing so. It isn't right that as a human being we are criticized and judged by society based on something we choose to do to our own bodies. People who struggle with mental/health problems, choose to go with an abortion for reasons. If the Supreme Court or anyone who resents the idea, chooses to take this away then not only are they risking a person's life but a child's life. People who struggle with mental/health issues would struggle with the process as they are going through things themselves. Resulting in the overturning of Roe v. Wade, would only cause those who are with the idea to start wanting other things to be overturned as well like, Gay Marraiges. This would only result in many protests due to the decisions and actions that the Supreme Court is accepting. This is important to us because why should our right to privacy be taken away from us just from a decision that we choose to do with our own bodies. It is no one else;s right to be telling us anything because our body is not theirs. By signing this petition you are helping us spread more awareness in the issue and showing support. We thank you for taking the time to read this and signing the petition.
