Flowers from 1970 is a fanfiction made by Astronomika that features Minecraft YouTubers/Twitch Streamers Dream and GeorgeNotFound. The story consists of a tale about George discovering the fact that he can communicate with Dream, a boy who lived in his house 50 years before, via an old rotary telephone. With beautiful writing and a tragic ending, 'Flowers from 1970' has received much praise from the dsmp fandom, along with over 6 million reads.

The story that Astronomika has crafted is not only fanfiction. It is a beautifully written story that transcends a mere fandom. No, it is an experience. A scenario that someday in our lives, we will find a person who will go great lengths to send gifts to you, who will transform your monotonous and depressing life into a colorful and meaningful one, who will make time and effort just so they can talk to you. A person that you can safely share your favorite things, activities and secrets. All while keeping your rendezvous with them a secret to everyone around you. 

Only for you to find out that the love you wished and longed for can never come true due to the countless circumstances and obstacles that surround you. You realize that the more you fell for this person and the more they fell for you. The greater the pain and heartache once the realization came that no matter how you manipulate the fabric of time and space, you can never be together.  

So, what do you do? That is for you to find out. In the story, Dream (the protagonist from 1970) did one of the most selfless and painful act all in the name of love. But before he did that, he needed to hear something from the man from 2020. To see if all those calls meant something to him. To see, even if it was just for a second, if George loved him. The story ends in a bittersweet ending with both of the characters realizing that this is the best case scenario of their story. That the pain that they are feeling right now is much better compared to the sorrow that they would feel if events have turned out differently. "Maybe it's true", Dream said while writing in his notebook. "That I just can't have my heart in 2020 when it belongs here in 1970."

This masterpiece of a story should not be constrained in fanfic websites and books. It should be adapted in a movie. A movie that is a beautiful as its plot. The next blockbuster hit that will flood the theatres (or at home watching Netflix) with tears once the ending comes along. If words can make the majority of fanfic readers cry. Imagine the waterfall that follows once the movie has been made. Not to brag, but this movie can qualify as one of the saddest films of all time. 

To make "Flowers from 1970" into a movie, some changes need to be made. First, make sure to sign this petition and share it to everyone who might be interested in this cause. Second, the names of the characters need to be changed. Astronomika has stated multiple times that they are willing to give the plotline away but not the characters. Third, I need volunteers in making screenplay scripts, casting suggestions, music suggestions, name change suggestions and etc. If this project is successful, there is a possibility that I will give compensation to the greatest contributors. Lastly and most importantly and I can't stress this enough, if you know of anyone who works in a major film studio preferably in the US and the UK. Please endorse this idea to them including some progress that we have done in the 3rd point to make the studio's job easier. I will be attaching some links for reference.
