Many people in Toronto are homeless there are between 25,000 and 35,000 people that experience homelessness. A Better Tent City will help with the housing problem and provide safe, warm shelters. Supplying residents an address to apply to jobs and get income. Giving them access to showers which will allow them to get cleaned up, assisting with getting interviews and applying for work. In addition to this they will have washers and dryers to do laundry, and food so they don't go malnourished. A Better Tent City has proven to work in Kitchener as residents have informed the organization that if it wasn't for A Better Tent City they would not be able to survive and reclaim their dignity, find hope and begin to imagine a different future. Assisting them with getting their life back on track. Therefore, I am proposing that we implement this in Toronto as well to help the homeless get out of poverty.

It is a good time to act now so the number of homeless people won't increase. If the number increases there will be too many people to help. Possibly resulting in people not getting the right type of help.
