Maintain Physical education & Technology classes in Wall Township

Maintain Physical education & Technology classes in Wall Township
The Issue
Movement included in the children’s day is extremely important as they already sit for extended periods of time. With reducing physical education classes from three times a week to two, we are depriving our children of essential physical activity that not only helps them stay healthy but also enhances their focus and performance in other academic areas. Numerous studies show that regular physical activity in schools significantly combats obesity rates and promotes mental health.
Furthermore, in a world that is increasingly driven by technology, it's vital that our children are equipped with the skills they'll need to succeed in the future. Technology education once a week ensures that young learners develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and familiarity with the technology they're likely to encounter in their personal and professional lives. Reducing technology classes to once a month is simply insufficient to prepare our children for the demands of the modern workplace.
Residents of Wall Township, NJ, we have seen positive impacts on students' engagement and academic performance when the curriculum integrates balanced schedules of physical and technological education. The decision to reduce the frequency of these classes threatens the holistic development of our kids.
As members of the community, parents, and concerned individuals, let's urge Wall Township School Board to reconsider these changes. It's imperative to maintain the current schedules for physical education and technology classes to ensure our children receive a well-rounded education that meets the demands of today's society.
