I am an everyday rider of the RideKC bus, along with numerous other individuals who rely on this service for various commuting needs, including getting to and from work. Many of us work late nights and the proposal to limit bus operations to 5am to 11pm will leave us stranded with an added financial burden to get home through other expensive means such as cabs, Uber or Lyft. Beyond this, we have concerns about the rumor of cutting some bus routes and the need for cleaner buses. Further limiting our already constrained transportation options by reducing hours and cutting routes would be a severe blow to us and many others. We request that RideKC not only maintain the current operational hours and routes but also allocate additional funding to improve the cleanliness, maintenance, and efficiency of the bus service. The bus service is a lifeline for the community, key to our mobility, and indispensable for the functioning of our daily lives. Join us in urging RideKC to consider these changes and maintain the current operational hours, refrain from cutting any bus routes, allocate more funding for buses, and enhance their cleanliness standards.
