"Take Boards Online" else Pass students by giving some common "Project/Assignment"

The Issue

The situation of Covid-19 is going worse day-by-day in India. The state like Maharashtra is facing a very critical situation during this pandemic. Cases here are rising every Morning instead of decreasing making the state with highest active Covid cases in India also the death rate due to pandemic is not yet come to 0(zero).

In all these situation the government is preparing to take offline exams for "HSC" as well as "SSC". This decision of government has raised the stress level of students and many of them are taking wrong steps. All we want is either government should take our exams "Online" or else pass us by giving some "Common Assignment" and a common "Date of Submission" for these assignment. And if the government says, "It would be difficult for the students in rural areas to give Online Exam then where was this thinking during Online Classes ?" It just simply means that those students will not be ready for exams even, isn't it ?

I urge the education minister to look into the matter. Your one right decision can save many of life of students as they are undergoing through a lot of stress and pressure due to all these unfortunate times and with all of these they will have to take pressure of examination. This may lead them to take unnecessary decision due to not performing well ! I also urge the government to look into the situation as some serious action is needed to be taken at the early. I also urge my friends to support me!

I write in support of this petition and for the millions of young Indians who are due to appear for their school, college, university exams. All of these students come in an age group that has not been allowed to be vaccinated by the Union Health Ministry. The exams that are due in a few days will have students and their families, their teachers/ invigilators, the non-teaching staff at high risk considering the virulence of the current pandemic. Many students and teachers are also coming from the micro containment zones as constantly suggested by the Union Health Ministry, which makes logistics difficult. Maharashtra state government has taken a call to postpone both SSC and HSC board exams however CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE have still not taken a call for this and are insisting on offline exams. Hence, it is my humble appeal, as a parent and citizen of India, to the Hon. Minister to consider either cancelling or postponing these exams. His decision would help lakhs of students and parents who are anxious about the safety in the times of pandemic. Let's keep the interest of their health and safety above. Dear Students and Fellow Citizens, I wish to express my solidarity with all students and parents who are worried about the health risks associated with appearing for offline exams during the peak of the pandemic. The public health crisis is testing our resolve and resources as a nation. As the vaccination drive continues, we need to do everything in our capacity to curb any event that escalates community-level transmission of the virus. Forcing unvaccinated students to gather in a public place for an examination is certainly not the way forward. As a Member of Parliament, I assure you of my support. I invite you to continue engaging with me via my Twitter page @ManishTewari and remain updated on my work. Thank you, Manish Tewari Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha Indian National Congress
