I have been a loyal user of Madison Metro for the past 30 years. The recent redesign has resulted in the elimination of hundreds of bus stops, making it significantly more challenging for elderly individuals and those with disabilities to navigate our city. Crucial stops at medical clinics and schools have been removed, creating unnecessary hardships for those who rely on these services.

Contrary to expectations, this new design has not improved the efficiency or reliability of our public transportation system. Buses continue to run late and are even more unpredictable than before.

This is not just my personal experience; many other residents share these sentiments. The City of Madison's decision has inadvertently marginalized a significant portion of its population who depend on public transport daily.

The removals were made under the guise of improving service efficiency but they have only exacerbated existing issues while introducing new ones. It is crucial that we address this issue promptly before winter weather conditions further complicate travel for those affected by these changes.

We urge the City of Madison to rectify this mistake immediately by reinstating the eliminated bus stops and reevaluating their approach towards public transportation planning. This will ensure that all residents, regardless of age or ability, can access essential services without undue hardship.
