The Issue

The government of Madhya Pradesh has issued a tender to clear 382.131 hectares of the Buxwaha Forest land for diamond mining. The forest is a home to many medicinal and protected plant species. This project involves cutting off 2.15 lakh trees. From the total 138.31 hectares is to be used for side burden and dumping. Clearing an entire area of the forest will disturb the ecosystem.  If we don't stop this today the price of oxygen and trees will exceed that of diamonds.
