Hello,

They have put grading back on the official BOE meeting agenda for next week. There has still been NO RETRACTION of the ridiculousness. "A grade must not, a grade must not....Please go to the BOE pg. at the website, look under agenda and familiarize yourself with this doc. There is a push to move to numbers, and what they represent. Option 1...there is also an acknowledgement of  75K in "training and workshops" they have used to come up with this "Vision".  There are some "Non-negotiables" in the document, which are perhaps helpful to those who are trying to figure out how some of this nonsense will translate on college transcripts.  They do indicate that they are NOT doing away with letter grades. Just HW counting at all...because you get it in college, and  you get it to count in K-8, but somehow, it's not good enough to count  at LT?!  ; /  Sorry, group, I can get sarcastic. There is more absurdity in the document as well, but please familiarize yourself with it and give it some attention. Please see the screen shot which indicates that we have grades from first semester 2021-22 which are "The first set of grades "school-wide" that have only measured student learning." Hmmmmmm???? Please come out and support your students and their incredibly challenging journey the last few years through LT.

Incidentally, I did attend a feeder school's report on grading changes last night and their parents and teachers on that committee did say that "Under no circumstances, were they planning to do away with HW, and not allow it to count." They did not use the Feldman book as they felt it was too extreme an approach. Thanks for supporting this and thanks for supporting your students and their learning, which as we all know, occurs, anyway and anytime with effort, despite what others might say!
