With Omicron quickly spreading, some students do not feel safe returning to campus. Moreover, some students will unnecessarily pay for rent and accommodations while they could be living at home. Right now there is uncertainty as those who are currently in their hometowns do not want to get a job there and only be able to work for 3 weeks until they have to move back to St. Catharines. Others have expressed concerns that the commuting is not worth it for the classes they have to take. There should be an option for online classes for those who are not comfortable being back on campus during times like these. Just as there should be an option to be in person for those who so wish. If both of these options were accommodated, less people would be on campus, therefore a safer university campus.
