 I figured I would start this petition to see if any other Lynn Haven residents wanted the Lynn Haven fireworks to continue as usual on July 4th. I believe we can all make our decisions about social distancing and enjoy the fireworks at safe distances from others or enjoy them from our yards/houses/cars. If people are uncomfortable attending they do not have to attend. I also believe the remnants of the virus will still be around in September so I do not see moving the festivities as a solution. I would like our city officials to work together to find an alternative to postponing the city events to labor day as most people will be out of town or have other things going (like the Gulf Coast Jam). One suggestion the city manager had would be a drive in celebration at multiple city parks that can see the fireworks from their original location. People would be allowed to get out of their cars to watch, and if state restrictions are lifted by then, we could resume the gatherings as usual.
