London Luton Airport Taxi Rank should be marked by Luton Borough Council.!

London Luton Airport Taxi Rank should be marked by Luton Borough Council.!
The Issue
The Luton Hackney Carriage trade will be severely affected and it is the duty of the Luton Borough Council to provide work for the taxis which they themselves have issued over the years while doing so many on demand surveys by charging taxi drivers for the fees.
Over 500 families will be affected by loss of the Airport Contract to Addison Lee. The Luton Borough Council should support the local community and local Trade.
Give us the right to have different type of vehicles for taxi trade in Luton, not just 100% wheelchair accessible to compete with national taxi trade and against upcoming mix fleet companies like London private hire.
unemployment will rise to its highest in Luton as drivers who rely on the work from the Airport will have no alternative trade or rank space to work and earn living from.
The knock on affects from this poorly made decision of giving the Airport contract to a London Based company will be widely felt and having an huge effect on local taxi service firms.
Parking availability, traffic in and around Luton Town Centre will increase due to the numbers of taxis which now have to use the few taxi ranks provided by the Council.Traffic jams will also arise more pollution in air and health issues will rise due to more effected breathing air for the public. People signing on benefits to feed their families until alernative jobs have been found.
its only fair that the Luton Borough Council Provide more official marked ranks for the Licensed Hackney Carriages in Luton and the Airport, after all the council who trade pay license fees to still own the Airport.
please support our local trade and sign this petition.
