Paul G. Allen saved the Seattle Seahawks from moving to California when he purchased the franchise in 1997.  In his memoir, he notes despite not being much of a football fan; he did it out of allegiance to the city. Allen had big plans for the Seahawks and after winning support from the voters of Washington state, his vision came to life and a new stadium was built. Seahawks Stadium opened August 10, 2002, and immediately players and fans knew it was a special place. Now it's our turn to pay tribute to the man who created this unparalleled field by signing this petition to acknowledge him in the name of the stadium.

Allen co-founded Microsoft, and after leaving Microsoft in 1983 he turned his focus to a wide range of other business, scientific, and philanthropic pursuits. He focused on improving people's lives and strengthening communities in Seattle and around the world. He gave more than $2 billion to education, wildlife and environmental conservation, the arts, healthcare, and community services. According to the Seattle Times, he was fond of saying, 'If it has the potential to do good, then we should do it.' Among the richest people in the world, he believed not in holding on to his wealth but giving it away in large swaths (2018). 

Paul G. Allen passed away on October 15, 2018 at age 65 from complications of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. In honor of this great man who saved our Hawks and was an inspiration to us all, we ask that Lumen Technologies include Paul G. Allen's name or initials in the name of the stadium, for example, "Lumen Paul G. Allen Field", "Lumen at PGA Field" or similar.
