Require Amazon.com to reinstate free shipping to Puerto Rico
Require Amazon.com to reinstate free shipping to Puerto Rico
The Issue
The availability of books, DVDs and many other items is limited in Puerto Rico. For at least ten years, Amazon.com offered free shipping on orders above $25 to Puerto Rico. They have withdrawn that policy although they state that they ship to US zip codes. Puerto Rico uses the US Postal System so it doesn't cost any more to send things to Hawaii, Alaska or New York, than it does to Puerto Rico. This new Amazon policy is discriminatory to those of us who live in Puerto Rico, the immense majority of whom are US citizens, and it does not make any economic sense to Amazon. They have further instituted this new policy without any announcement. We have over 600 signatures on this petition as of March 1, 2012
