Allow Pets to Travel in Cabin when travelling with Lufthansa to the Republic of Ireland

Allow Pets to Travel in Cabin when travelling with Lufthansa to the Republic of Ireland
The Issue
When travelling to and from European Member States by air, Lufthansa allows Pets to travel with you in the Cabin if they fit certain criteria (more information here: http://www.lufthansa.com/ie/en/Animals). This only applies when the Laws and Regulations of the entering Member State allows so.
This Petition focuses on the issue that Lufthansa do not allow Pets to travel with you in Cabin when the entering State is the Republic of Ireland. All representatives of Lufthansa we spoke to say that this is due to the Laws and Regulations set by the Republic of Ireland, but when checking with the Authorities, it was clear that Irish Law does not go into whether the Pets are entering through the cabin or through the hold, as long as all the paper work is in place. This means that this restriction is being made by Lufthansa, thus discriminating between EU citizens when travelling within the European Community.
This is important as it would give people who are travelling to Ireland or relocating to this country the option of having their pet (which fit the criteria) with them in the cabin, something that other citizens travelling to other EU Member States already have. This would also give the possibility to easily travel from and back to Ireland with your Pet if you wanted to.
A Pet travelling in the Cabin is closer to the owner, and travels secure. Travel in the hold can be more traumatic to a pet, so since the Irish Legislation is not against this, such Pets should be allowed to travel in the Cabin when travelling with Lufthansa.
