We think that the voting age in New Zealand should be lowered to 16. We think this because the policys that the goverment implement for the 4 years they are in parliament has a large affect on the youth. 16 year olds that would be alagible to vote if this policy was passed will be 20 by the time they are allagible to vote again. 16 years old is when most New Zealanders will get a part time job and start paying tax. We believe that it is unfair that 16 and 17 year olds are having to pay tax and not being able to vote. By being able to vote it gives the 16 and 17 years old who are paying tax some decision to what their tax money is being used for.
