Each month, I and many others across the country find ourselves caught between a rock and a hard place, forced to decide whether to cover our rent or pay our rising Con Ed bills. The astronomical delivery fees charged by Con Edison are making it harder for everyday families to manage their budgets. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, electricity rates nationwide have increased by about 1-2.5% annually since 2008. Despite these statistics, Con Edison's delivery fees have seen a much steeper rise. This situation is not just unfair, it's unsustainable. Now, we call for Con Edison and relevant regulatory bodies to address this issue, by lowering their unreasonable delivery charges promptly. By doing so, they can take necessary steps toward ensuring no one should have to choose between their basic home utility or rent.
