Lower the Driving Age to 17 in the State of Victoria, Australia

The issue

Currently Victoria is the only state in Australia that requires you to be 18 to get your provisional license.
Signing this petition will affect every teenager especially those who live in regional Victoria. The earlier victorians have access to the freedom of a motor vehicle the better for everyone. It allows more employment opportunities for young Australians as well as taking the stress away from parents having to drive there teenagers everywhere.

Regardless of whether you live in Melbourne or a regional town, there is nothing to lose and everything to gain by letting younger people on the roads. Once you have completed your 100 day hours and 20 night hours why does it matter what age you are?

As of 2023 Victoria is the only state with a Driving age of 18, every other state has a driving age of 17 with the Northern Territory having the driving age of 16 1/2. Victoria needs to join the rest of Australia and lower the driving age today.
