Lower Parking Fees at Mount Royal University Campus

The Issue

As a student at Mount Royal University (MRU), I am personally grappling with the high parking fees on campus. The costs are unaffordable for students and unrealistic, considering the inflation and overall expenses of being a university student in Calgary, AB, Canada.

The cost of parking has been steadily increasing over the years, making it difficult for students to afford this essential service. According to Statistics Canada, tuition fees have increased by 3.1% in Alberta from 2018-2019 alone (Statistics Canada). Coupled with rising living costs and textbook prices, these parking fees add an unnecessary financial burden on us.

It is time that MRU takes into account the financial realities faced by its students when setting parking rates. We urge MRU to consider reducing these costs to make education more accessible for all its students.

We call upon you to support us in our plea for lower parking fees at MRU campus - sign this petition today!
