A parent complained after Hurricane High School’s open house on August 21st about the LGBTQ+ Safe space and diversity stickers/posters in classrooms. After that the teachers were made to remove them citing that political items are not permitted to be displayed. Supporting students and making them feel safe is NOT political. It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone should have the right to know they are supported and safe at their school. As a student at Hurricane High, I find this situation outrageous and unjustifiable.
