Redesign L.A. County's Flag

The Issue

Los Angeles needs a new flag. There is no doubt that we are one of the greatest, most influential counties in the world. Even the New York Times admitted, “Los Angeles is enjoying a renaissance with a burgeoning art, fashion and food scene that has become irresistible to the culturally attuned.”

But the one thing we’re missing, the one thing every great county deserves, is a great flag. Our current flag is neither recognizable, nor symbolic, nor representative of us, as a county or as Angelenos. Most people don’t even know it, and because they don’t know it, they don’t fly it. But we intend to change that.

Los Angeles is currently undergoing a profound transformation. Development is booming, neighborhoods are thriving, and the very heart of our county is growing and adapting to meet the demands of an ever-changing 21st century. We are not just home to celluloid dreams and iconic landscapes, but also to a growing tech industry, world-class cultural centers, and the fastest growing mass transit system in the country. We are in the midst of a stunning revival and, as such, are hosting the Olympics in 2028.

We have set a course to strengthen and transform our county, to create a more sustainable L.A., and right now all eyes are on us. It's time we show the world how beautiful, creative, and united we truly are.

With your help we can gather the support needed to redesign and adopt a new county flag -- a flag we can all be proud to fly, a flag to promote and represent our county, and unite millions of Angelenos throughout Los Angeles and around the world.

Join us in urging Los Angeles County supervisors to change our flag.
