On June 3rd while traveling back home to Woodland, CA along CR 99/CR 29A in Davis, CA at approximately 5:45a.m, Mercedes Victoria Johnson (my best friend) lost her life tragically when the vehicle she was passenger in collided head on into a tree. Her boyfriend who was driving at the time allegedly lost control of the vehicle while traveling at high speeds due to per his statement "one of the cats being out of its crate and jumping at his feet", upon his attempt to remove the cat from his feet he lost control of the vehicle before crashing into the only tree along the road. At least that's the story he told me, although it seems to vary from what he has told others. 

According to toxicology reports traces of narcotics were in his system which stirs up many questions, like whether or not he lost control from the cats distraction or did perhaps he fell asleep behind the wheel? Or due to RUMORS the couple may have been recently involved in some minor disputes there is questions about the stability of the relationship, and if it truly was an accident or a domestic gone extreme.

However there is also the fact that the tree is not in compliance with State mandates regarding the distance between road and agricultural property, so is some blame to be put on the property owner for failing to comply with regulations? Or was it really an accident due to the cat, there are in fact times that the cats have been out of their crates thus imposing possible distraction or interference while driving, so many questions but no answers, of course there hasn't even been a mention of the incident in any local papers or social media blogs so why would there be answers? 

Mercedes deserves to be given the recognition and attention that any other Yolo County resident should be entitled to, she deserves a proper investigation, her mother deserves answers, her family deserves closure, so she can be laid to rest in peace. 

A life was taken, a tragedy occurred and then just pushed to the side and ignored, so please join me by signing this petition urging Yolo County Officials to conduct a proper investigation and bring the one or ones responsible for her death to justice. I am not seeking any unreasonable actions just proper investigation and based upon FACTS that the proper litigations be conducted to bring JUSTICE for the life taken too soon.
