London Resort have a planning application to build a theme park on The Swanscombe Peninsula.

This natural haven is home to wonderful rare/endangered wildlife including; hundreds of invertebrates, water voles, lizards, plants such as the Man Orchid and is a crucial area for nesting birds. In fact, this site is so significant for biodiversity that Natural England have recently designated it as a Site of Scientific Special Interest (SSSI)! This status means that the Peninsula is now recognised as being an nationally important area for wildlife.

Usually this would offer protections against development. Shockingly, this won't necessarily stop the theme park being built here because The London Resort has been defined as a Nationally Significantly Infastructure Project (NSIP). This means it has been whisked out of the hands of the local authorities to scrutinise, and The Secretary of State will now decide on the fate of this precious area.

We say NO to London Resort...

•NO to the loss of 140 active businesses and thousands of good local jobs already on the Peninsula.

•NO to the extra traffic and pollution a theme park on our doorstep will bring to our already heaving, over developed and polluted borough.

•NO to the senseless destruction of such an environmentally significant and treasured wildlife gem.
