Condo developer York Developments has proposed to tear down two historical London buildings in order to build a 22-storey residential tower.

197 Ann Street was built in 1859 and functioned as the Kent Brewery from 1861-1917. The building at 183 Ann Street was home to the family that owned the Kent Brewery from 1862-1911. Both of these buildings have been part of London's heritage. Furthermore, the building at 183 Ann Street has been home to many students over the years, and is important to those that require affordable, low-rise, house-like apartments near downtown.

Those that have been fortunate enough to spend their time visiting their friends at 183 Ann Street have experienced the character of the building firsthand. There are not many buildings left with this kind of Victorian architecture.
