Save Granville Plus Nursery School

The Issue

Brent Council have proposed to close Granville Plus Nursery School and amalgamate the nursery provision into a 4 form entry 'super primary' at a different site.

For the last 35 years the nursery school has evolved from a small nursery to one of only 4 maintained nursery schools in Brent.

Granville is unique - Working parents rely on the provision for babies from 6 months old to starting school from 8am to 6pm 48 weeks a year. The award winning building was redeveloped only 10 years ago to provide the optimal environment for young children.

Children supported with free nursery places under the NEG for 2, 3 and 4 year olds are offered flexible, parent friendly options.

The staff are specialists in Early Years education, many with post graduate qualifications. All children are welcome, regardless of parental choice for primary school, their faith or disability - there is also a specialist provision for children on the autistic spectrum, and places for children with significant special needs.

The children go on to at least 15 local schools - secure in their abilities to cope with their education.

This Nursery School is a beacon of good practice which would be lost forever in a short sighted backward step. Please support us.
