We need your help!

Land O’ Lakes High school is giving the students one last year in agriculture on campus. Without prior notice to the parents, students, and the advisor, they surprised us with an email that explains that there will no longer be an agriculture program at the school which takes away FFA for LOLHS. They claim the number of students is far below what they need, but they did not give the students, parents, or the advisor a chance to correct this. The school has been trying for years to get rid of the program. They are not supportive at all of the program, but all other sports and activities. Totally unfair.
FFA is not a seasonal activity. This is a 365 days a year job. There’s a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in this club. This program teaches the kids respect, hard work, dedication, team work, pride, confidence, I could go on and on.
Rain or shine, sick or well, hot or cold - these students have to be out in the pasture or at the barn cleaning stalls, washing their animals, working their animals, feeding, and just loving their animals in general. They are passionate about what they do in FFA and for the school to just rip this out from under them like this is just wrong.
No, we will not “just join 4-H” like the admin tells the students. FFA and 4-H are NOT the same clubs. Yes, they both show animals, but are ran completely different.
After the FFA members work their butts off, they take their projects to the fairs. They get judged, then they send their projects to auction where they make some hard earned, well deserved money. Imagine having an animal and putting in so much time and effort into them then have to say goodbye. It’s not easy, but you gotta do what you gotta do. It’s all a part of agriculture. It’s life.
I am calling on the LOLHS admin to get educated about agriculture and it’s importance. LOLHS admin, you need to rethink your decision.  What you are doing is crooked and unfair!
Make Agriscience a mandatory class as there is so much to gain from it. Agriscience is just as important, if not more important than some other “extra” classes.

Please sign! We are not going down without a fight!
