Having lost my son in 2019 I was thrown into funeral planning (sadly was my birthday) rather than looking forward to welcoming my son into this world. That was hard enough, the unexpected funeral expenses (even though some is covered by a grant not at is) then you have the job to save up to pay for the headstone and delivery and fitting costs. That’s unfortunate but expected. To my horror and disbelief you then have to pay a cost to the council to be told yes you can. That’s it’s, mine was a additional £250. For what purpose is that fee justified. For admin?  I would like the fee to be reduced to just administrative costs or completely scrapped.  Haven’t we lost enough already without the financial costs on top. Stop profiting out of stillborn babies!
