Lock Up Groomer John Lucey III

Lock Up Groomer John Lucey III
The Issue
We are calling for justice and accountability regarding John Lucey III, the former school resource officer at Triton Regional High School in Newbury, Massachusetts. Lucey served in this position from 2011 until his resignation in October 2024. During his time at Triton, he used his authority and access to students to cultivate inappropriate and exploitative relationships.
He is now living at 37 years old with his most recent victim—a college sophomore—whom he first met at just 12 years old through his involvement as a co-director in the middle school theater program. Their relationship began shortly after she graduated high school, prompting Lucey to leave his wife and child. Multiple students have since come forward, reporting uncomfortable and intimate interactions with him while he was in uniform, in a position of trust.
While the school district has now made a public statement, words alone are not enough. We demand full accountability for those who failed to act sooner, and concrete protections to ensure that no student is ever again put in harm’s way by someone entrusted with their safety.
This petition stands for the victims, for survivors, and for the students who deserve to be safe at school. We will not stay silent.
