Review of parking rules at Hermitage Parade ASCOT
Parking rules at Hermitage Parade restrict parking to 1 hour with NO RETURN within 3 hours. We understand this type of rule is to prohibit drivers from parking for a full hour, then moving to a different space to extend their stay, and to ensure its use is for the retailers on this site however, such strict measures are unfair and illogical in practice.
e.g
1. You put keys in for cutting or shoes into repair at Johnsons/Timpsons, they advise to come back in a couple of hours - this would result in a £100 charge.
2. You drop somebody off at Eman and say you will pick them up when they are finished - anything over an hour but less than 3 hours from then would result in a £100 charge.
3. You pop to pick up a carpet order/rug and its not ready so pop back an hour later - would result in a £100 fine
4. You get dropped off at vets, carrying pet in a carrier and are then picked up a couple of hours later - would result in a fine
4. You share a car with a family member - they park and go to dry cleaners, you take the same car out a couple of hours later and go to the chiropractor - do you check where one another parked beforehand ? unlikely - so this would result in a £100 charge
So how is any of these beneficial for residents, retailers and our commitment to supporting local ? Please review the rules to make fair for real life usage and scenarios.
