The by-laws in place forbidding overnight parking between 3am and 6am are set up to be a cash grab from citizens and their visitors.  There is no benefit to enforcing these by-laws other than to generate revenue and we should not put up with them.

Personally, I have received 2 tickets in the past couple of months.  None on "snow days", just forgetting to pull the car in the driveway after my wife got home.  Does it really hurt the city to the tune of $30 for me to park on the street overnight in front of my house in a quiet suburban neighborhood?

The solution is to rescind the by-laws and focus on enforcing by-laws that are meaningful such as building code enforcement and to leave average joe citizen alone.
