I. INTRODUCTION 
As Isabela State University students, we intend to establish a program that will lessen the likelihood of these issues from worsening. As a result, we devised a program that benefits not just our own neighborhood but also for others. It will also serve as an example for other communities to implement similar initiatives in order to maintain and protect Sierra Madre mountain range.

II. PURPOSE
The goal of our project is to inspire people in our community to think of ways to preserve the Sierra Madre mountain range, which shields us from powerful typhoons every year. We want to encourage all Local Government Units to take actions to protect the mountain range, such as putting in place measures to prevent illegal mining and logging, because we are the ones who will benefit from these measures. We want to raise awareness about how many trees we lose each day and how to prevent the recurrence of the widespread floods caused by Typhoon Ulysses in Cagayan Valley in November 2020. This is for us to teach them and persuade them to join as much as possible.

III. OBJECTIVES
“Save Sierra Madre” aims to raise environmental awareness in different communities. Below are the lists of the additional objectives of our program:

• To preserve our natural barrier from strong typhoons and prevent provinces including Cagayan Valley and Isabela from massive flooding.
• To protect and preserve different species of animals and trees that are unique and endemic to the Philippines.
• To give peace to many indigenous peoples who protect the forests and live there.
• To help reduce the greenhouse gases and fight climate change; improving the quality of the natural environment.
• To set one’s mind on the well-being of future generations.
   

IV. METHODOLOGY

• Tree Planting- It's a program that promotes environmental responsibility. When seedlings are distributed, each LGU is responsible for planting them in open areas surrounding their location. This initiative would be extremely beneficial in increasing the number of trees in our community, and it would serve as an alternative to the destruction caused by uneducated people who continue to do things such as deforestation, which degrades the beauty of our surroundings.
• Enhanced Implementation of Anti Illegal logging and mining- This program is a big factor in protecting Sierra Madre if implemented properly by the government. This will not only save Sierra Madre but also fight climate change, prevent floods, landslides and many more.
• Community Seminars- This program aims to educate people, especially minors about the importance of the Mountain range such as how they will benefit from it in the future if they will take good care of it and what are the consequences if they don’t preserve it.
