Children during winter months have to spend a lot more time indoors because of early darkness. It is essential that even during these times children are able to play outside after school hours, just as they would in the summer months. 
If the local playgrounds and basketball courts would have proper lighting, children should be able to play there until 7pm, after which the lights will be switched off automatically. This lighting would have to be provided by the appropriate councils with funding coming from government. 
I would like as many of you parents and grandparents to support me in this idea. In fact, anyone who doesn’t want children to become couch potatoes during British wintertime.
