The Issue

Dozens have been killed, hundreds are injured and missing. Families are cut off from the world, voices are silenced, and innocent lives are at risk. Stand with the peaceful people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir now.

(SOS - Urgent Appeal to the United Nations Human Rights Council, International Human Rights Organisations, Global Democratic Leaders, Human Rights Activists and Civilians)

A grave humanitarian crisis is unfolding in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (Azad Jammu & Kashmir). Pakistani forces, including Rangers, the Frontier Corps, Security Agencies, and the AJK Police are using live ammunition against peaceful demonstrators, conducting mid night-time raids on homes, arresting and torturing ordinary citizens, and enforcing a region wide blockade alongside a complete communication blackout.

As a result millions of the people have been left without access to food, medical treatment, and entire communities are suffering without assistance. Even beyond this crisis Jammu & Kashmir remains a disputed territory under international law and is not a legally part of Pakistan, making the use of such force and repression even more alarming.

The peaceful and broad‑based Jammu & Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) a coalition of ordinary citizens, traders, lawyers, students, people from diverse political backgrounds, and community leaders are facing violent state repression simply for demanding fairness, healthcare, education, and basic human rights. What began as a call for fair electricity tariffs, affordable flour, access to education, merit‑based systems, proper healthcare, and an end to elite privilege has now escalated into a full‑scale humanitarian emergency.

The people of AJK have protested peacefully in the past and have always remained disciplined and non‑violent. The Governments of Pakistan and Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir had previously promised to address these basic demands, yet those commitments remain unfulfilled deepening the suffering and frustration of the people.

In a world more connected than ever, millions in the region are now completely cut off from the world. A total communication blackout has left families unable to contact their loved ones, creating fear, uncertainty, and deep emotional distress. At the same time, Kashmiris across the world including in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, across Europe, and beyond are raising their voices in solidarity, calling for justice and standing with their people.

On the ground, the situation reflects a serious breakdown of civil liberties and basic protections such as:

• Night-time raids on homes by police, agencies and paramilitary forces, leaving families in fear
• Live firing on peaceful demonstrators
• Blockades restricting access to food, medicine, and essential supplies
• Internet and mobile shutdowns, isolating the region from the outside world
• Mass arrests of civilians, students, activists, and ordinary citizens
• Use of anti-terror laws to silence a peaceful civil rights movement
• Deployment of rangers, federal paramilitary forces across the region
• Dozens killed and hundreds injured, including women and young people

These actions have caused widespread suffering and insecurity among civilians.

What makes this situation even more alarming is that the people have remained peaceful throughout. The Jammu & Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee has consistently advocated non-violence, both in the past and at present. Despite this, peaceful demands are being met with force rather than dialogue.

These protests are not about politics or power or against any party or state ; they are about basic human needs and fundamental rights. In this age, it is unacceptable that people are forced to protest simply to secure access to food, healthcare, and the right to live with dignity and safety. These are basic rights that should already have been guaranteed.

The government of Pakistan and the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir had previously made promises and commitments to fulfil these concerns. However, those promises remain unfulfilled, deepening frustration and hardship among the people.

We the global diaspora and human rights activist from all over the world stand in unwavering solidarity with the people of Kashmir. Their pain is shared, and their voices must not be silenced.

We demand for:

• An immediate end to all violence and repression against civilians
• A full, independent, and transparent judicial inquiry into all killings, injuries, and abuses
• The immediate and unconditional release of all those arbitrarily detained
• An end to unlawful arrests, harassment, and misuse of anti-terror laws
• The full restoration of all communication services
• Immediate access to food, medicine, and essential supplies
• Protection of the right to peaceful protest, freedom of expression, and assembly
• Genuine and meaningful dialogue to address the grievances of the people and fulfil
 the character of demands

Governments exist to protect their citizens, not to instil fear or suppress dissent. Repression will not bring stability, it will only deepen injustice and suffering.

How many more innocent lives must be lost before the world pays attention?
How long will peaceful voices be met with bullets instead of justice?

We the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir request to end the siege, restore dignity and the people be heard.

Sign this petition to stand for justice, human rights, and the dignity of the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
