The issue

Please sign this petition urging the State Government to extend the City to Bankstown metro line to Liverpool.

The time has come for transformative infrastructure developments in southwestern Sydney, specifically the extension of the Bankstown metro line to Liverpool. This crucial project will improve connectivity, support regional growth, and help meet the long-overdue transport needs of our community.

As South West Sydney's population grows, we need to have our infrastructure forward funded and future proofed. The necessary push for the extension of the Bankstown metro line into Sydney’s third CBD, Liverpool, has been championed by community advocates and elected officials across South West Sydney.

Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun has voiced strong support for this motion, asserting that the time has come for both State and Federal governments to deliver the long-promised infrastructure for the people of Liverpool and southwestern Sydney. Such developments are essential for achieving a "true 30-minute city," connecting major hubs like Bankstown, Liverpool, and Parramatta, and fostering regional growth.

Extending the metro to Liverpool would not only replace the existing service but also offer an efficient transport solution for suburbs currently underserved by public transport. This extension promises a faster, more direct route between two of Western Sydney’s most vital city centres.
