Sign this petition to improve road safety on Belvidere Road Liverpool.

Back in 2014 I contacted Liverpool City Council about my fears with the lack of road safety around the academy. They replied that the lack of accidents around there did not justify extra resources being spent.

On the 12th February 2016 - on the afternoon the Children broke up from Belvedere Academy for half term - a motorist mounted the pavement, knocking down a group of Girls. 8 of them were taken to hospital and were treated for serious injuries sustained.

Two of the girl’s are in my daughter’s year, year nine, just 13/14 years-old. I have started this petition to try and prevent this happening again -- especially after I warned the council just a year and a half ago.

I am now requesting, as a matter of urgency, that the council look into traffic calming measures down Belvedere Road and improve road crossings for the school children. The accident that happened there on the 12th of February highlights the vulnerability of our children against motorists.
