UPDATE: still no help or support from the council. Newham council have strung me along like a puppet. We are still living this nightmare and aren’t getting any help from anyone. They’ve fully gone to the extent of ignoring my calls and emails. Why can’t something be done here? 

  I am a single mother of two living in temporary accommodation in Tower Hamlets that is infested with red ants. I was placed here by Newham council, whom have deemed the property suitable for living.
The situation is so awful - sometimes I have to send my kids to stay with my relatives as my home isn’t safe for them. This is heartbreaking and is drastically affecting my life. Please help me make sure Tower Hamlets council clear the entire block of ants.

The ants are on every surface, every sideboard, windowsills and more. I have cleaned every single day, but it got worse. They were all over the beds, bathroom, and in cupboards. It became too much - I had to get rid of all my furniture as it was all riddled with ants. It was horrendous! I had to send the kids to my family whilst I sorted it out. The landlord had sent pest control twice and still the ants kept coming back. The council still hasn't sorted out the issue.

My neighbours are facing the same issue. It isn’t just my flat, but the entire block. It’s shocking - my baby is now crawling all over the ant infested floors of the flat. It makes me sad I cannot do anything about this - I clean every single day and still they are everywhere. No one should have to live like this. I need some help.

Please sign my petition to help us all. There are so many children in the block. It’s just so unfair.
