The newly enacted family policy at Lindenwood University forces professional staff members to choose between their career and their family. Marriage and children are valued in our community because they give us something to work for, drive us to be better people, and support us in ways nobody else can. This is why families are a protected class, and why the policy is shamefully discriminatory. Without a full reversal of this policy, Lindenwood will suffer chronic turnover, employee burnout, and ultimately, the residents could suffer from that lack of consistency in the department. The current Area Coordinators, and Residence Life professionals around the country, choose this career path because they have a unique understanding of student development and care deeply about student success. By signing this petition, you will help us demonstrate why and how Lindenwood should care similarly for its current and future employees by supporting their right to live with their families.
