My girlfriend is on the color wheel at Lincoln County Court, and despite having no prior record or run-ins with the law, she has been placed in the most intensive category, color red. This has caused significant stress and hardship for her, as she faces the strictest release conditions possible. Meanwhile, I, too, have been subjected to the color wheel, and know firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate this system effectively. Currently, the Lincoln County Court uses the color wheel system, which is designed to categorize individuals based on the perceived risk they pose and their compliance with legal requirements. While this system is intended to maintain public safety, it lacks uniformity across different counties, leading to inconsistency and unfair treatment. We believe that by keeping the existing procedure in Lincoln County, while also implementing a standardized color wheel system in both Lincoln County and Lyon County, we can achieve a more balanced and fair approach to managing legal cases. This will ensure that individuals are assessed and treated more equitably, Lincoln county doesn't fairly treat cases they treat every caseas if they are guilty until proven innocent it understands the whole justice system and vilolates the p presumption of innocence law given to us by the Constitution By pushing for a standardized color wheel system in Lyon County, we can prevent others from facing the undue hardships that my girlfriend and I have experienced. The system should be transparent and consistently applied, ensuring that no one is unfairly categorized or restrained due to arbitrary differences between counties.
