Limit the Centrelink benefits to maximum 4 children in a family

Limit the Centrelink benefits to maximum 4 children in a family
The Issue
I am a concerned citizen, witnessing an imbalance in the distribution of Centrelink benefits. The current system allows families with more than four children to receive a disproportionate amount of support, leaving less for others who are equally deserving. It's time we address this issue and ensure that all families get their fair share.
Centrelink provides crucial financial assistance to many Australian families. However, the existing policy does not cap the number of children per family eligible for benefits. This means that larger families can potentially receive more aid than smaller ones, creating an imbalance in resource allocation.
According to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), as of June 2021, there were approximately 2.65 million single-child families and around 1.35 million two-child families in Australia. These numbers highlight how many households could be affected by this disparity.
By limiting Centrelink benefits to a maximum of four children per family, we can ensure a more equitable distribution of resources among all beneficiaries - promoting fairness and reducing waiting times for those truly in need.
This is not about penalising larger families but ensuring that everyone gets their fair share from our social security system - because every child matters.
Please sign this petition urging policymakers to review and amend Centrelink's benefit policy so it serves all Australian citizens equitably.
