There is an emoji for many fruits, especially citrus fruits. We have both an orange and a lemon emoji, but there is a glaring hole in the representation of fruit emojis. There is no lime emoji. There is only a small wedge on the side of a drink emoji. A lime or lime wedge emoji is required to have a full catalogue of emoji and it is a category that has gone unloved and unrecognized for too long. We the people are asking for a lime emoji that is by itself- not tacked onto another emoji. If there is sufficient need for an easter island head emoji, a lemon emoji, and three different disk emojis, don't you think the humble lime deserves its time in the spotlight?

Every day I wake up in the morning and pray that the emoji authority will grant this wish and free me from my plight. When I talk about limes, my friends have no choice but to drop a lemon and a green heart or shape into the group chat to convey that it is lime time. When someone asks me what flavor I want of something, I have to manually type out all four letters of "lime" instead of just sending an emoji like a regular person. I know there are many more pressing issues in the world, and you should care about those too, but in an 18 month span that seems like a never ending march of garbage, please give us the small comfort of a lime emoji.
