Have you ever noticed a misplaced light bubble in the night sky around Champaign County that is the size of a town but you can’t ever quite pinpoint what town it is? Well, that is because it isn't a town, it is a grain elevator. The Frito-Lay grain elevator can be seen from miles away at night due to the obnoxious amount of lights glaring off of it and it is only creating more light pollution in the night sky. If we can make a change to face the lights down, limit the amount of lights, or only have the lights on when necessary, we could make a big difference to the darkness of the sky over our community.
