The Jeremiah Denton Airport on Dauphin Island, AL has been the site of several boat wrecks causing injury and death. The reason for so many tragedies is that the Airport runway sticking out into the bay is not lit up until there is an aircraft using the runway. This causes problems for all boaters in the area who have to navigate around an unseeable obstacle. This petition is to raise awareness and try to fix the issue of the Dauphin Island Runway being invisible at night and to hopefully avoid boat wrecks while maintaining a safe runway view for landing aircraft.
